Arsene Wenger is actually a Middle Class Indian!! Part II

This Article is for Fun only. Do not read it seriously.

FFP and Corruption
Indians do not bother about the corruption at the smallest level. Driving offences, paying for the Government Doctor, Passport verification, traffic violation, government offices, donations to schools, Real estate black money, buying without bills etc… The list is endless. Generally, no one challenges it. All they care about is getting away from huge actual fines or to get their job done quietly. They are ready to pay bribes in smaller amount instead of paying huge actual fines or following the rules. When someone does the same corruption at the bigger level people get agitated and talks about it everywhere. They slam, curse, criticize, blame and abuse, etc. Indians predominantly use the Social media for such abuse only.
The Financial constraint placed upon Arsene Wenger has made him the chief promoter of Financial Fair Play (FFP). Arsene was very vocal in his support for FFP, but that did not stop Arsene from selling his players for inflated prices to his rich rivals. Arsenal being a selling club during this period made lots of money selling some of the players for a ridiculous amount of money. Only when it came to buying new players, Arsene started to moan about the inflated market and irresponsible spending of other clubs. Although Arsene did not buy any established starts until recently, he still continued to spend money on potential youngsters. Some of the young and mediocre players were on the ridiculous amount of salary. Arsene bought several teenagers around the world at inflated prices and paid them huge sum. The flat salary scale benefitted largely the average players and kids. High profile stars left Arsenal but Arsene was complaining about FFP every time some big clubs stole a player. Do not forget, Arsenal always had a big squad with huge wage bills.
Arsene Wenger is a perfect middle class Indian. He does everything as per the rule, nothing illegal.

Very good Savings, poor investing and very bad marketing
Indians are very good at saving money. Indians tend to manage their expenses within their income levels. The overdraft option in the bank accounts is rarely used by Indians. Recently the usage of credit cards has changed our attitudes towards saving, but traditional Indian families are experts in saving money. Indians make mistakes when it comes to investing and marketing. Real estate, Penny Stocks, ULIP’s etc. are real examples of the poor choice of investments. Most branded shirts were made in South India, but successfully marketed by somebody else. Indian manufacturing sectors are a real feeder for big marketing companies.

Arsene Wenger is brilliant in terms of saving money. He is very conservative in his approach and avoids high level risks. He always managed to spend within the allocated budget. Just like the Indians, Arsene did make many poor investments. Too many penny stock players like Bendtner, Diaby, Chamakh, Denilson, Park, Djourou, Gervinho, Ryo, Wellington, Silvestre, Squillachi, Santos etc.. Although these players cost less, the cumulative salary of these players is massive and it’s a purely waste of Arsenal’s time and money. Players like Modric, Andy Carroll, Bale, Suarez, Torres, Downing, Lescott etc. were purchased by bigger clubs at inflated prices. Arsene did sell many players for profit but none of them were sold at an inflated price. Ronaldo too wanted to quit Man U but Fergie made Real Madrid pay for him. Cesc Fabregas, RVP, Nasri etc. Were sold at reasonable or fair prices, but none of them were sold for crazy money.

Praying mantis style

I am a Big Guy

I am a Big Guy

There is a huge gap between the rich and poor in India. Labours are generally not treated well. Office Assistants, Tea lady, Cleaners and many other manual labourers are not treated equally. People are respected based on their pay grade. Indians tend to bully the smaller guys. Their attitude completely changes when they enter the Boss cabin or when any higher authority is around.

Arsene does the same to smaller selling clubs. Many teenagers are signed for from smaller clubs. Arsene never showed any spine or fight when a big club come in with big money offers for any important player. Selling RVP to MAN U was a real shock to all fans. To add insult to the injury RVP won the farewell title for Fergie. Bulling small guys and rolling the tail to a bigger guy. Much explanation not needed, Arsenal humiliates smaller teams with some great artistic football, but gets bullied by every major club.

Few other Similarities

  • Succeeds away from home and fails at home. Arsene Wenger is successful in England and Japan than Monaco.
  • Surviving Indian – Less Chance of getting fired even while under performing
  • New Rich Indian – Buying iPhone and covering it with a 100Rs. Case. Playing RVP and Cesc along with Alumnia, Chamakh, Denilson etc.
  • Indian Government Employee – Believing your own hype and experience. Arsene Wenger said “Very few can teach me about football management”. Almost every government employee close to their retirement will use the same exact words.
  • Loyal Indian – Loyalty to the Employer.
  • Lack of Killer Instinct – Indians are too soft on their rivals. They always tend to be fair and try to play by textbook rules.

0-2 : Man City Vs Arsenal Match Report. Francis Coquelin – New leader emerges

Arsenal began the game from where they left off against Stoke city. Arsenal played a high intensity game against a better team in terms of quality. Stoke were nasty and there were some high intense tackles flew around, but the match against Manchester city was more about the technical quality of Arsenal team, they combined it with their energy. It was clearly evident from the starting line up and the way Arsenal started the match that Arsenal badly wanted a win just like they did against Stoke city FC.

Arsenal record against top four teams were really embarrassing. Although Arsenal started this season with a win against MCFC 3-0 in the Community Shield, but lost 2-0 lead in the EPL match at Emirates and ended the game at 2-2. Arsenal had lot at stake but Abu Dhabi club has the danger of drifting away from their Russian rivals in the EPL race. Weekend football results were least favorable for Arsenal. Every possible result went against Arsenal.

Thank god. Just only one DM

Thank god. Just only one DM

Surprisingly Arsenal started a team identical to that of team that started against Stoke. Bellerin replaced the injured Debuchy and Aaron Ramsey replaced Thomas Rosicky in the starting line up. Thankfully there was no Flamini in the starting line up. Coquelin and Ospina deservedly kept their place in the starting line up. Arsenal has wealth of midfielder in their squad but it was always puzzling when they start the match with Flamini and Arteta.

First Half

Koscielny picked up an early yellow but Arsenal started the match brightly. Arsenal Midfield was full of energy and played a high intensity game. Arsenal team took the fight to Etihad. There was no holding back. Sanchez was threatening, Giroud came close but he could not make it count. The neat passing between Sanchez, Ramsey, Monreal and Giroud made Vincent Kompany to make his usual rugy tackle on Nacho. Manuel pellegini thought it was a dive in his post match interview. WTF Manuel, it was a stone wall penalty, but with Arsenal’s luck with referee decisions fans were surprised that the referee gave us the penalty. Santi stepped up and scored. The joyful Arsenal fans had to go through some nervous moments during the final few minutes of the first half. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was clearly not in the level of Ramsey, Santi, Coquelin and sanchez, he kept losing the ball putting the team under pressure.

Second Half

History suggest that Arsenal fans can never rest, even when they were leading 4-0 at the end of first half, but this team was not nervous, they continued their dominance. Man City made some changes replacing the underrated James Milner. The Ox was replaced as expected. Though he had his moments but kept losing the balls putting the team under pressure. Hard working Sanchez was fouled by Jovetic. Awesome Santi stepped up again to deliver the dead ball into the box. Man city were known for their defense, but there was some chaos in organizing the defense for the free kick, Giroud took full advantage of it and headed the ball in. The goal made the fans go wild, but his celebrations would have made the day for the ladies. Kompany stayed on the pitch in spite of his tackle on Alexis. Flamini could have made it 3-0, but at the end it was a good win for Arsenal with a clean sheet.

The players were really knackered. Ramsey was visibly tired at 85th minute. Everyone’s hard work paid off.

Santi dance

Man of the Match : Santi Cazorla. He did everything in style.

Flop of the Match : Alex oxlade-Chamberlain

It was not a good day for Ox. Bellerin and Ospina played well. The attacking threat of Bellerin will increase in multiple folds when Arsenal players starts to trust him little more. Coquelin was a real leader on the pitch. He continued his fine form and he is going to keep his place in the starting line up. His passion and awareness was really good. The 23 year old was instructing, shouting, tackling, intercepting but most importantly kept his cool.

Well done lads.

Arsenal and Big Lump Strikers : Danny Welbeck Vs Olivier Giroud…… Joel Campbell?

The social media has pretty much confirmed and unanimous about our first choice centre forward. Like every kid with Christmas presents we always love our new toys. We get excited too much too soon and blame the players when they don’t meet our expectations. When was the last time our new signing met our expectation? Think long and hard. Its going to take sometime to answer. Only Chambers has met our expectation in this transfer window.

Arsenal Centre Forward

Arsenal plays 4-2-3-1 system with a lone striker. The hold up play of the Centre forward is the most important attribute of our system. Arsene prefers a Big & centre forward. Olivier Giroud fits perfectly into the system based on the important criteria of size and hold up play. On watching France play in the world up I even thought Olivier Giroud should be the starting striker instead of Benzema because of this hold up play. He is really good at it. This system relies heavy on the unpredictable running of our midfielders. This is the reason when Ramsey was on fire we were unstoppable. France would have benefited from it since they had better runners in their midfield.

The Main problem in our set up is when playing big teams with a plan. They use fast players to close down our midfielders. They exploit the lack of pace and striking capability of our main striker. He is left alone to make any change. Also playing Jack, Ozil and Santi together puts brake in our midfield pace. Effectively we need a Grioud who can strike the ball and also take on the defenders on his own. Welbeck is similar to Giroud. He can also strike the ball and he is also a hard worker. I believe he can slot in nicely in our setup. where does the less favourtite Joel Cambell comes into our squad?

Statistics may not be the perfect tool to analyze a player in any team game, however the above table provides some interesting stats. English player stats at worldcup will always be worse than anyone else So, we can ignore the stats of Welbeck. The figures are per game. Joel Cambell. Forward Passes and take on’s looks really good. We also know he can strike the ball. He looks decent. I would prefer him to be given a chance at league cup games. Giroud is absent till January and its a wonderful chance to grab the spot for one of these strikers.

Arsene’s obsession with big lump at front means Joel Cambell will be the least favourite.

Arsene : Are we too honest ? Jan Vertonghen & Kostas Manolas was in our price range

Defending Arsenal after moving to Emirates must have been hard for Arsenal Fans . Every time whenever I talk about Arsenal to my friends and colleagues I end up talking more about finances than Football. Arsenal being a football club has made its fans financially sound. We might have heard more finance lessons from Arsene than football lessons. I am not saying its a bad thing, but I always felt awkward defending Arsenal’s lack of success at Emirates. Hope that’s not the case this season

No football this weekend and the transfer window is closed. There is nothing much to talk about apart from Wilshere involving war of words again. Our players are good at remaining in the media limelight when there is no football action.

Arsenal has started to make some amazing videos starting from the Puma launch. Here is one more from Arsenal media. We always make very good videos off the pitch. Why not make 24/7 Arsenal TV? Arsenal Fan TV is doing really good and has a huge fan following.

Looking good.

Talking about transfers, every year we are linked with hundreds of players and sign very few. We have done well in certain areas. Arsenal has always done some amazing business in nicking very young talented attacking players. Crowley is the latest one I am excited about. He looks really good at his level. Hope he stays away from Arsenal and English Media. Defense is the one area where we always struggled.

Laurent Koscielny, Thomas Vermaelen and Per were really solid signings. We should have equally signed some young upcoming defenders to keep our backline strong when called upon. Though Monreal looked good at CB during the preseason it would be bad idea to use him as CB. I hope everyone remembers using Djourou as RB.

Is arsene two honest in signing players? I really felt sad when some of the defensive signings we missed in last few seasons. I was not too worried when we missed on Jones and Smalling. I was really worried when we missed on Cahill, Jan Vertonghen and more recently Kostas Manolas. Missing on Jan Vertonghen was the one that hurt me so much. Generally we miss out on players due to price or competition from Arabs or Russians.

Jan Vertonghen was really in our price range. We could have easily got him. Arsene wanted to play him ad DM but he wanted to play as CB. We should have been honest and assured him a position as CB and play him DM when necessary. Arsene was too honest and does not want to change his starting CB . Why is arsene so reluctant to replace a player in the Starting 11? Whats harm in signing the player first promising some position and later tell him to fight for it? We are a big club, I am sure we could have worked along that line.

Similar to Jan Vertonghen we missed on Kostas Manolas due to the lack assurance of starting 11. We could have assured him a starting spot (may be 20+ games) or promise him the CB role for several years. Are we too honest in telling him to that he can only be a third choice? I don’t know.

ManU signed Falcao when they had Rooney and RVP. MCFC still managed to keep Dzeko. Chelsea signs Cesc when they have Eden. I am sure we could have signed Kostas & Jan. I would have loved Jan Vertonghen in our team.

NO Free Agent or Loan : THIS IS ARSENAL. Start Building another Invincible team.

There was a rumour going around that Arsenal is looking for a 38 year old free agent. I have no idea about this player but it disgusts me to read something like that. Nikola Zigic has confirmed that there was contact from Arsenal regarding his signing. This is not just an agent talk. The player himself given the statement after the transfer window was closed. Are we really a big club? Why can’t we look for quality players instead of looking for bargain deals?

Arsene wenger sings the praises of Romelu lukaku and how Everton has done a fantastic job of signing him, then he goes and enquires about Zigic. Atleast we got welbeck now. What would have happened if ManU shut the door on us just like Jose Mourinho did with Demba Ba? we were just lucky to have Ozil and Welbeck. It was not a well planned strategy to get them. I guess we are used to it and little scared to come out.

We have survived the financial constraints set upon us due to Emirates stadium. We acted like mid table period during that period. Arsene wenger did a fantastic job in keeping us in the champions league with many average players. We waited for a year to get Chamakh. We were competing with Fulham for his signature. We could not even get Mark Schwarzer from Fulham. We lost all our world class players and traitors. Though I may not agree to all these transfers, I was given very good financial lessons from Ivan Gazidis and Arsene. We learned to live with it. We were sold a dream of becoming big players of Europe once again.

200px-Arsenal_FC.svgNo more hiding. Load the Cannon.

On and Off the pitch we were bullied. We had many shocking results against the big boys and even more shocking transfers.

At some point we need to come out of this mentality. Once we survive the world domination should be the next natural progress. We were led to believe it would happen with the new Puma deal. We started brightly in the transfer window and ended it in a familiar fashion. If our youth team is not able to provide a 4th choice defender better than some 38 year old Free agent, then seriously we failed in this transfer window.

We should have gone for some better defenders from top clubs. we should have got Carvalho or Nastasic or Manolas. At least we should have gone for Rio as 4th choice. If we need players then we need players.

We should not manage to win games anymore. We should win games. We should bully anyone at emirates. Emirates should become a scary place for any visiting team. That should be our goal. I hope we reach that level again soon. Its between a long time since we were invincible.

Sanogo scored two goals for France under21. I hope Arsene does not come out and blame the fans for his lack of goals at Arsenal. Don’t forget he did defend Gervinho with similar statement.

Arsenal English Core : Are they just poster Boys?

We added two very good English players to our already existing core of British players. Chambers has already proven to be a massive hit among the fans. Welbeck too a very good addition to Arsenal squad. He is already proving to be an Arsenal type player with his injury during the international break. Welcome to Arsenal Danny Welbeck.

Is there an incentive for adding English players to the Club? Are we buying British players to use them mainly as poster boys? Are they really good enough to make it at Arsenal?

Man City won 2013-2014 EPL with only one English player in their starting Eleven. The Successful Wenger Era was dominated by French Players. Barcelona and Bayern Munich Dominate Europe with their own country players. No English Player plays for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. 2014 worldcup proved that there is a huge gap between British teams and rest of the world. The Golden Generation was humiliated. Why do Arsenal keep adding English core when Chelsea, MCFC and Manchester united are getting rid of them?

Arsenal v Queens Park Rangers - Premier LeagueFace

Arsenal being an English team it makes sense to have majority of English players, But I cannot tolerate the idea of using them as poster boys when much accomplished players in the squad gets less attention. Releasing the Arsenal Jersey with these poster boys cannot be justified.

Ramsey, Wilshere, Gibbs, Ox, Chambers, Walcott, Jenkinson are part of Arsenal team for a while. Chambers and Welbeck have been added to this core. Arsene, Arsenal and English media hype these players too much before they actually make it. Ramsey was the only standout star in that core group. Gibbs and Walcott proved to be consistent. I am yet to see a consistent world class performances from Ox and Jack. Apart from some flashes of brilliance I did not see anything extraordinary from them. Sterling and Sturridge has done more to their clubs than Jack and Ox. We need to be realistic. We are already in our way to hype Chambers as our ” New Tony Adams”.

Sturridge might be doing well at Liverpool but chelsea bought better player than him. Welbeck is replaced by one of the top strikers in Europe.

These players are consistently on the Media and Arsenal website. The Club should make Arteta, Sanchez, Ozil, Per, Koscielny, Santi etc as our poster boys. They should be the face of Arsenal Football club. World Class loyal footballers should be the face of our club.

Many fan polls have shown that Welbeck should be our main striker ahead of Giroud. Let Welbeck earn his main striker role. Lets not hand him the main striker role by fan polls.

I hope the English core repay the faith by becoming world class players and play for Arsenal for many long years.

Danny Welbeck replaces the greatest striker on planet

Wow finally the transfer window for this summer is closed. We can stop following all the rumours and start supporting our beloved Arsenal team. I am tired of all the transfer stories and finding player videos in youtube. No more youtube videos of Sami Khedira, Cavani, Falcao, Kostas Monalos, Sokratis papa——–, Nastastic, Micah Richards, Remy, Benders, Howedes, Reus, Morgan Schneiderlin, Vela, Drmic, Mario, Rabiot etc……….. etc….. That is a long list. Most of the linked targets have made a move in this transfer window. Our rivals has done a good job of buying some great players. As always Arsenal feeds us with transfers of surprise and shock.

Its always a mixed feeling supporting Arsenal. We defeat Barca, Bayern Munich, AC Milan etc… that makes us go mad and also get defeated by Birmingham, Aston villa or any other relegation fighting team to test our patience. Transfer window does provide similar moments to us. It always starts with a surprise and ends with frustration. Some of the things in the transfer window always leave us scratching our head.

Barca DNA moving to chelski was the most surprised moved according to me. Barca gave its academy graduate a fitting farewell.

Like I have mentioned in my previous posts. Arsene has a definite plan and acts early. Once the initial activity is done the whole club just trolls media & fans. Gervinho, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Sanchez, Chambers, Sanogo etc.. were all part of the team building process. The final hours are just looking for bargain deals without any plan. Please don’t tell me Mesut Ozil was part of our plan. In Last summer transfer window we failed with every striker target and also failed to land Yohan cabaye. Ozil was the response to fans after the Aston villa game.

In this transfer window the club has done really well to purchase some established players. Sanchez, Ospina, Chambers, Debuchy and Welbeck are all very good addition to our squad. Remember Joel Cambell and Podolski are still part of our squad. You might disagree with me. This transfer window was really a change of direction. Generally Arsene replaces outgoing players with some youth players. This window was not that case. We really bought solid players. We also shipped lot of deadwood.

BendtnerWe will miss you? LOL

Ivan – ” We worked very hard on transfers” – TADA I give you “Danny Welbeck”. Thank you very much Ivan Gazidis for your hardwork all summer. Its really hard to replace one of the most confident striker in English premier league. Finally our Arsenal Scout team, Ivan and Managers have found the right man to replace the Greatest striker on the planet. You have big shoes to fill young man. Many arsenal fans would be gutted to lose one of the hardest working professional even known.

Arsenal has done very well in this transfer window.

Have we done better than our rivals? – Nope

Is our team good enough to win the EPL? I hope so.
